Where is Coach Tom Miller today?
Coach Tom Miller played 3 sports at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, including being an all-conference selection in golf in 1967. He was elected to their Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983. In 2000, Tom was picked by Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) to launch its NCAA Division I men’s and women’s golf programs. At BSC, he was named 2003 Women’s National Coach of the Year for Independent Colleges and Universities. His men’s and women’s teams provided numerous tournament victories and individual medalists’ awards, including three all-conference players, two NCAA Division I All-America Scholars, one ESPN Academic All-American and one Big South Conference Freshman of the Year.
Tom has traveled all over the country observing and recruiting college golfers and is an excellent resource to children aspiring to college golf.
He has now relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and, via collegegolf101.com, is helping high school students realize their dream of college golf. He is hooking up with top private schools such as Cambrian International Academy to make their sports advisory programs comprehensive.
College sports and the recruiting process that goes with them have turned out to be outrageously competitive. In spite of that there remain opportunities for students who take a unique approach to getting identified early on.
