How To Choose A Tie

It is an art to match the tie correctly with the rest of the clothes and the occasion. So how do you perfect the tricks of it? Simply remember these few guidelines.

Always buy the tie of correct length. Standard tie lengths are 130-150cm. Tall men should request for longer ties. An appropriate tie length is when the triangle tip of the tie touches your belt buckle.

Unless you can afford to buy tie widths in fashion, buy a width of 8-9cm which is a general width and will never get out of fashion.

While purchasing mens silk ties to go with a suit, ensure that you carry the suit with you. You will then have a perfect idea of how the tie will look when worn. If the jacket is a sports coat then the color of the trousers must also be taken into consideration while selecting the tie.

Before buying, carefully check the tie for any manufacturing defect like loose threads, uneven weaving, stain, discoloration, smudge, etc.

Casual, regular office ties can be polyester blends, but business meetings and other occasions require italian silk ties or silk blend ties.

For all occasions, avoid ties with pictures and cartoons. These patterns are very informal and should be worn only to similarly informal occasions, like a birthday party or a family gathering.

A safe bet are solid colored, striped or dotted ties. Match them with the shirt or the suit and wear.

For job interview, business meeting, regular office and other serious occasions the selection of tie should be conservative. Set off a dark colored shirt or suit with a light toned tie in the same or complementing hue.  Do not wear a striped tie with a striped shirt, with the exception of a pin-striped shirt. A solid tie will be a better option.

Match patterns and textures of the clothing with the tie. With patterned shirts, its better to wear solid ties and vice versa. It will be a loud clash if you wear patterned tie with patterned shirt. This clash can be sobered by wearing a plain jacket with them.

A dark shirt is relieved by lighter colored tie and a bright shirt can be sobered by pairing it with a dark tie. Dark blue and dark red colors seldom go wrong in ties. You can also select a tie of the same color as your shirt or suit, but in a lighter or darker shade.

Are you aware that your face and skin also should affect your tie selection?

If you have a strong, angular face you should wear striped ties. Dotted and paisley printed ties go well with a round or baby face. Solid colors can be worn by everyone.

As you would match the shirt and suit to your skin before buying, so should you follow the same principles while selecting a tie.

So you can see that the choice of the tie depends on the occasion, the pattern of the shirt and jacket, and the color of the shirt and jacket.

Differences Between Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs 2008, 2009

As you plan and invest your retirement savings, you probably have several choices of vehicles you can use – 401K if you’re an employee of a large company, SEP plans for self-employed people, and for most of us, IRAs and Roth IRAs.

For the most part, IRAs are treated like 401K’s and SEPs in that the money you put into the plan is exempt from taxes when it is invested, but you do pay tax on it whenever it is withdrawn. Since the tax is deferred until you withdraw, these are typically referred as tax deferral vehicles for retirement.

With an IRA, you must leave the money invested in the IRA until you reach the age of 59 ½ or face a 10% early withdrawal penalty on top of the tax, and you must begin taking a minimum distribution each year from an IRA at the age of 70 ½ .

There are limits to the amount you can make contributions that are exempt from taxes in any year. For 2008, this limit is $5,000 for taxpayers under the age of 50, and $6,000 for those who are over 50. It is usually unwise to contribute more than this to an IRA as excess contributions made in after tax dollars, and they will also be taxed on withdrawal.

The Roth IRA works just the opposite. Contributions to a Roth IRA are always made in after tax dollars, that is, the contributed amount is not exempt from tax. However, provided the appreciation in the account is not taken before the age of 59 ½ , none of the amount withdrawn is ever taxed. Thus, if you invest $5,000 in a Roth IRA for 20 years ($100,000 total), until age 60, and it grows to $500,000 during that time, under the law, you will never pay tax on the withdrawals from this account.

One thing that has always concerned me with respect to Roth IRAs is that a day may come when Congress decides this is too much of a sweetheart deal and begins to tax “excess withdrawals” or withdrawals made by “the wealthy”. Obviously, if you’re investing in a Roth, you’re hoping it will grow as much as possible and that you become wealthy yourself. So look out – it hasn’t happened yet, but there are no guaranties that any tax break will last forever.

The wrong autoresponder email marketing can collapse your business

The wrong autoresponder email marketing can collapse your business, not build it.

A lot has been said about email marketing as an excellent tool for web marketing but few have been said about its pitfalls. If you plan to use auto responders as a booster for your online sales effort, you should pay particular attention to how your information is delivered to the readers. Basically, you should be concerned about the format in which the information is carried over.

In this article, we try to look at some of the much overlooked points that are a recipe for an email marketing campaign disaster.

Text format

When it comes to text on the internet, there are principally two main types that you can use in your email auto responders as part of your email marketing plain text like the one we see in notepad and html, the commonly used format on the web. Plain text normally contains no formatting but html text has formatting, variable background and can contain graphics.

Now let’s look at the reasons behind your choosing one or the other.

If you are reaching a simple readership without the need for extensive formatting and illustrations in your materials, then the best way to go is plain text for your email marketing. This style of text is easy to read ( as it has a white background) and loads easily because there are no graphics.

However, if you need to put links in your email marketing auto responders that readers will click on, then a problem emerges. People usually associate long links with affiliates. Even if you own the product being offered for sale, many people will shrug at the idea of clicking on a link because they know you are trying to hide behind an ezine or article to sell them a product.
